And worse, we are conditioned to fear pregnancy, and childbirth in particular – even though it’s something the female body was designed to do. There is no shortage of opinions on how to live a healthy lifestyle these days, but it can feel overwhelming to know who to listen to and how to put it all into practice.

Feeling Good During and After Pregnancy

Imagine combining Fitness, nutrition, Breathing, Thoughts and emotions and Lifestyle adjustments! The Prenatal Wellness Course educates and inspires you for the role you play in enhancing the health of yourself and your child – from conception through postpartum. Our course has this and more!

Exercise and nutrition during pregnancy lay the foundation for postpartum recovery by supporting muscle strength, energy levels, and overall well-being, aiding in the transition to motherhood. Additionally, maintaining healthy habits postpartum can promote faster healing, assist in weight management, and contribute to positive mental health outcomes for newly postpartum women.

Exercise During Pregnancy

Regular exercise during pregnancy, tailored to individual fitness levels and approved by a healthcare provider, can promote overall well-being by improving mood, reducing discomfort, and enhancing stamina for labor and delivery. Exercises like the Core Breathing Belly Pump combined with activities like strengtg training, yoga, pilates etc. are generally safe and effective ways to stay active during pregnancy, preparing your body for birth and postpartum.

Nutrition During Pregnancy

Nutrition during pregnancy plays a vital role in supporting the growth and development of the fetus. A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and dairy products provides essential nutrients such as folic acid, iron, calcium, and omega-3 fatty acids, promoting both maternal health and optimal fetal development.

This Course is for you if you:

  • Are a soon-to-be mom
  • Love fitness & holistic health
  • Desire to use your pregnancy as an opportunity to learn how to enhance your health through movement, nutrition, mindset, lifestyle, and breathing
  • Want the flexibility of a self-paced course
  • Enjoy having clear action steps that you can follow to improve your health and the health of your unborn child, alongside the understanding that you are a unique individual who cannot be placed into a cookie-cutter box
  • Intuitively know that it is wise to prepare mentally and physically for what will be one of the most challenging events of your life: labor & delivery

Pregnancy: Health and Wellbeing

Maintaining a balanced diet rich in nutrients and regular exercise during pregnancy promotes both maternal and fetal health, while regular prenatal check-ups ensure the well-being of both mother and baby by monitoring crucial developmental milestones and addressing any potential concerns early on.

Pregnancy often brings challenges such as fatigue, back pain, and mood swings, which can affect the well-being of expectant mothers. However, maintaining a healthy diet rich in nutrients and engaging in regular exercise can help alleviate these challenges by boosting energy levels, reducing discomfort, and promoting emotional well-being. Proper nutrition provides essential vitamins and minerals necessary for fetal development and maternal health, while exercise helps strengthen muscles, improve circulation, and manage stress, contributing to a smoother pregnancy experience overall. By prioritizing both nutrition and exercise, expectant mothers can better navigate the physical and emotional demands of pregnancy while promoting optimal health for themselves and their babies.

Staying Healthy During Pregnancy

The First Trimester

During the first trimester of pregnancy, it’s essential to focus on consuming nutritious foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains to support fetal development and alleviate common symptoms like nausea and fatigue. Additionally, staying hydrated and getting plenty of rest can help manage discomfort and promote overall well-being during this crucial stage of pregnancy.

The Second Trimester

In the second trimester of pregnancy, maintaining regular prenatal appointments for check-ups and screenings is crucial for monitoring the health of both mother and baby and addressing any emerging issues promptly. Additionally, incorporating moderate exercise and continuing to eat a balanced diet rich in essential nutrients supports the growing needs of the developing fetus while promoting maternal well-being and energy levels.

The Third Trimester:

During the third trimester of pregnancy, prioritizing adequate rest and sleep becomes increasingly important to manage fatigue and prepare for labor and delivery. Engaging in gentle exercises like walking or prenatal yoga can help alleviate discomfort, promote circulation, and prepare the body for childbirth while maintaining a nutritious diet supports both maternal health and the optimal growth of the baby.

Common Tests During Pregnancy

During pregnancy, common tests such as glucose screening and oral glucose tolerance tests are conducted to screen for gestational diabetes, a condition that can develop during pregnancy and affect both maternal and fetal health. Monitoring blood sugar levels helps healthcare providers identify and manage gestational diabetes early, reducing the risk of complications and promoting a healthy pregnancy outcome.

This was my 6th Pre/Postnatal Course and BY FAR the best one I've taken! I learned things I had never learned in other courses.

" It is thought-provoking and progressive -- exactly the type of modern-day training we need to change the old ways of how we've viewed exercise during and after pregnancy. I run a pre/postnatal fitness company, and this course has helped us evolve our approach immensely. I now require all my trainers to take this course, and I believe we are truly a better company because of it. I cannot recommend this course highly enough!"

As a trainer, I feel so empowered after completing the Pre/Postnatal Corrective Exercise Specialist certification course.

"The information I learned in this course truly helps me to feel like I can create an incredible experience for Pre/Postnatal clients to help them feel strong, energized, and confident during their pregnancy and in motherhood.
This is not the course for someone who just wants to be told what exercises to do with a client, but it is for the trainer who truly wants to make a difference in their client's life and empower them to feel their best. I am so grateful to have found this incredible program and community and can't wait to continue learning and growing with Fit for Birth!"

WHAT OTHERS SAY

As a personal trainer and a birth doula, I have found this to be my missing ingredient to how I work with all of my female clients. I loved it!

"I love the focus on corrective exercise and breathing mechanics. Just yesterday I got one of my clients to change her breathing to her belly and she immediately noticed a difference in where she was "feeling" the lunge. In her glutes!

While some have knocked this course for focusing too much on natural birth and labor, I loved that part. I think it's important for people to understand that what we see in the movies and TV shows isn't how it needs to go or should go, and also know that there are other options to just going in, getting induced and then getting an epidural. Homebirth, birthing centers, natural birth in hospital. Know you have options!

I am so grateful for the video session with Krista at the end. Being able to be walked through an actual assessment and coaching session with my client was super beneficial. I feel equipped to go out there and do this with anyone who walks through my door.

I highly recommend this course for all fitness professionals."
