Danyelle “Dee” Solana is a fitness, nutrition, and dance professional from San Diego, California. Her personal passion is dance, which has shaped her profession. “I absolutely love performing and teaching and sharing my love of dance!” She teaches group and one-on-one fitness & dance, and is a professional dancer and performer (check out her fantastic compilation video of her dancing and teaching, “Sweet Dee Dance Promo,”— this video had all of Fit For Birth dancing; we must have played this a dozen times when prepping for Dee’s VC!
Dee found Fit For Birth in part due to her own pregnancy, and remembers being nervous about getting too intense with a pregnant client. She said, “I am more hard-core than the average pregnant woman, and it’s freaking people out.” (Did we mention to go watch her Promo video?!)
Dee says that she learned a few things from the Pre & Post Natal Corrective Exercise Specialist (PPCES) course: Pre & Postnatal history and its effect on new moms; safe and effective ways to apply her fitness knowledge towards pregnant women; and confidence in being comfortable training moms preconception to postpartum.
Since completing the PPCES course, “I’ve been teaching classes, working on getting my mind and body back in shape, working on getting Fit For Birth classes up and running at the studio, and I’m enjoying being a new mom!” Her baby boy, Jameson, was born on July 29, 2015.
She is excited to offer her services as a Pre and Post Natal Corrective Exercise Specialist, and currently teaches mostly at Glitter Tribe Studios, “San Diego’s first studio dedicated to the art of Burlesque.” She is also developing an online coaching and teaching business focusing on women and new moms. Super exciting is the launch of her own dance certification for dance and fitness professionals! (check it out at www.bodybeatsdance.com).
Ultimately, Dee says that she would love to go back to school for Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine and Massage Therapy, and then open a practice that incorporates all of her knowledge and experience in holistic wellness and dance therapy, particularly to women and new moms.
Fit For Birth is proud to be seeping into the dance world, in part thanks to incredibly bold and passionate professionals like Dee. You’ve made a lasting memory with Fit For Birth, Dee, and we are excited to see how far you push the boundaries!
